So what was going on in the world in between the 1791 election and now? In September of 1791, Pittsfield, Massachusetts barred the English game of Rounders and that indirectly led to the banishment of what would become baseball as well.

In December of 1791, the United States Bill of Rights was finally ratified. Two amendments remained dormant, but the first 10 were in effect.

On February 20, 1792 the United States Postal Service was founded and over 230 years later, people still don't get their packages on time. On March 20th, the capital of North Carolina is named Raleigh in honor of Sir Arthur Raleigh.

So what happened to make the 1792 election like the 1782? The death of James Bowdoin shook Boston as nobody else had Hancock's popularity as the years were going by. The Revolutionary War had been over for nearly 10 years and unless a new conflict popped up, there was no derailing Hancock's popularity. Still, a bunch of people threw their hats in the ring to see if they could get anywhere. Samuel Adams, Benjamin Lincoln and Samuel Phillips Jr can be given an A for effort. Let's see how they did.

As expected, ITS A LANDSLIDE! The individual records were apparently not released so every other candidate combined pulled in 2,266 votes while Hancock by himself garnered 86% of the vote with 14,628. The upcoming presidential election had everyone buzzing to see if John Adams could take down George Washington so Hancock flew under the radar with no one else running. Hancock's record was now 11-1 with the 1 having an asterick. Once again, Hancock reigned supreme.
